Last PE lesson
Yesterday i had my last ever lesson of PE. But what have i learnt over the past 11 years of it?
1. I don't like it - well, most of it anyway. Recently there has been good things such as basketball, tennis, trampolining and table tennis. Ok, so table tennis isn't really a sporty activity but apparently its still a sport. But anyway, my point is that i dont like most of it. This is the things like Cross Country, Football, Rugby etc.
2. Headers - what is the point in this? Yeah, its probably a nice trick for someone to do in a football game but when you have to have an entire lesson each time you do football which is based around headers, its just like "wtf is the point?". Basically, I'm standing there having a ball being chucked at my head being told that my technique is wrong ("I'm sorry, I'll swing my head towards it next time because thats the sensible thing to do..") and all i can think of is "Do you mind? My brains in there, you know!".
3. Hands in pockets - imagine this. its freezing, you're standing there in the spitting rain, your hands are freezing and you don't have a coat but you do have trouser pockets, what do you do? Exactly what I was thinking. Put your hands in your pockets. But nooooo, you get told off for that. If my memory serves me correctly, the high school PE teacher (Mr Rogers) once told Sean "If you were in a maths lesson and had your hands in your pockets you would get told off and you just wouldn't do it would you? So don't do it in my lesson". If i was in a maths lesson, i wouldn't be freezing my balls off so therefore i wouldn't need to have my hands in my pockets. Secondly, no, the teacher wouldn't tell me off and thirdly, i have probably done it a few times when i'm bored. Forthly (is that a word), i didn't need to use my hands since it was football.
4. Cross Country. At the high school the teachers actually tend to run round the course with you most times but at the middle school, they stand at the start or take the shortcut across the middle of the field to half way and stand with their mug of tea (milk, 2 sugars ;-) ) telling you to hurry up and telling you you're not fast enough. Thing is - I'm not at all bothered about how fast I run.
5. Why? I'm quiet thin and yet the most excersize i get per day is walking home from school. I feel that this is enough to keep me thin and since i eat more than most people, I don't think i ever will get fat. And if they called the lesson "Games" in middle school then give me some god damn games. Scrabble or CS Source any day over PE.
